R.V.V.'s Minister's Island Run ( July 29th. 2017 )
Mother
nature had a bright, smiley face on as nine R.V.V. Vettes gathered at
the Big Stop for there first ever trip to Minister's Island. The weather
was absolutely perfect as the Vettes caravanned their toward St.John
and onward toward St. Andrews and eventually Minister's Island. The Bar
Road and the " long and winding road " leading to the estate were no
problem and gave us all a good excuse to spend some time caressing our
Vettes with soap and water.😎 The Van Horne estate gave us a peek
into the world of the wealthy with it's 50 room main building with
approx. 18 bedrooms and countless bathrooms, fireplaces, servants
quarters and numerous other enclaves. Add to that the stables, carriage
house, bath house, the pump house, the grounds etc. and it became very
clear they lived a privileged life style.
From
Minister's Island we made our way to the Birch Grove restaurant in St.
George for a delicious meal before heading home. You will have to ask
attendees re the forgotten purses and the missed exits!!
