RVV Fall Foliage Run

R.V.V Autumn Colors Run 2016
Eight R.V.V. Corvettes met at Carleton Park, Fredericton on a absolutely gorgeous Saturday, Oct. 8th. afternoon for their annual Autumn Colors run. The caravan of Vettes picked up Route 628 in Marysville and proceed to meander their way through some of the most colorful country side in the area. The landscape was ablaze of color as members made their way through Penniac, Durham Bridge, Taymouth, Astle, Boistown before becoming a unplanned Vette show at the Village Family Restaurant in Doaktown. Members were also treated to stops at the Riverbend Golf and Country Club in Durham Bridge and the McNamee/Priceville Footbridge in McNamee/Priceville and eventually cruised back to Fredericton on the very scenic, newly constructed Route 8 highway. John Garwood's photos will provide a more visual record of the day. Thanks John

RVV Corvettes at Bangor

RVV at Bangor for car show !

R.V.V in Bangor
When is the main event not always the main event? Read on. Six R.V.V. Corvettes attended the Wheels on the Waterfront show on Saturday, Sept. 10th. in Bangor, Me. The week-end began with a misty Friday morning drive to Bangor followed by wow lunch at Nick's Cruisin Diner. Lunch was followed by free time until all gathered for a very scenic cruise to Ellisworth and a wow free meal catered to by Darling's Chevrolet. Meanwhile, back at the motel the evening was capped off by a Corvette wash and a wowgathering in 415.
Saturday morning offered more shopping for some spouses and off to a wow  Car Show for the Corvettes. John J. And Kevin A. both won in their class!! The Saturday evening Casino visit was as interesting as usual with winners / losers at the buffet, slots and a live band.
The homeward bound Sunday drive was preceded by yet another visit to Nick's for a group breakfast followed by a Marden's stop in Lincoln, Me. Sooo, the main event of the week-end could have been any one of about six activities. Did I mention the good food at Nick's??

RVV Fundy Trail Run 2016

Sept. 17th. - R.V.V. visits The Fundy Trail
First and foremost a huge thank-you to Dave & Judy Griggs for organizing and hosting a truly great run! Five R.V.V Corvettes participated and those who missed this outing missed some truly spectacular scenery. Highlights of the run included a Tim's enroute stop in Sussex, a very scenic country road drive to St. Martins, some absolutely eye popping and humbling raw natural scenery, some mouth watering seafood at the Caves Restaurant, a stop at a century old B&B / antique / comfort food home and a drive home that saw an encounter with a dog, a deer, a mother bear and her two cubs and a yearling moose! Oh Yes, members need to ask the girls about the six cheeks in the woods at P2. Very funny.

R.V.V. at Houlton's Hogan Tire Event:

R.V.V. at Houlton's Hogan Tire Event:
It was a sunny August Saturday and a calm and leisurely drive to Houlton, Me. for R.V.V. members who attended the above outing. Uncertain expectations were soon put to rest as members were very impressed with the size, organization and many free offerings in which to participate. No registration fee, free food, six sets ( 4 ) of tires given away, free bicycles, free coolers, dozens of small give aways, two monster trucks c/w demos. and more in addition to lots of very eye pleasing automobiles.

N.B. Day in Hartland

Well, talk about your well kept secret!! This was it! R.V.V. had nothing planned for this week-end until Frank P. gave us a heads-up re the above. Although no members participated in Saturday's parade we had four Corvettes accept the invitation re the above celebration. It was a small car show, ( no awards, no detailing, no fees etc ) just show up and park on the closed Main Street. The covered bridge was also closed to traffic but was filled with vendors through the entire length. There were bands playing, all kinds of food stands, bingo, silent auction, line dancers rocking to different kinds of music. All of this and more under a beautiful sunny sky!!

The Smearer's BBQ

Minto, July 2nd. Parade & The Smearer's BBQ:
Unfortunately, all good things eventually come to an end and such was the case with the great weather this week-end. R.V.V 's participation in the Minto festival Parade did not happen because of forecasts of rain, wind and threat of thunder storms.😣 However, the post parade BBQ. hosted by Harley & Pat Smearer continued as usual! John & Jean, Wanda & Mark, Vernon & Julia, Harley & Pat and Harley's sister & brother-in-law attended and had a very calm and relaxing afternoon with no rain.☺
