Friday Afternoon Drive to Briggs & Little

A beautiful day for a drive and to see how John
Thompson's project vette in Harvey was coming
along.I stopped off at Jim Hamilton's along the way
and picked him up and then on the way to Harvey
where we stopped in and picked up Peter Wood.
John has all the parts now but just has to get the
time to assemble them. I'm sure she'll be lookin' fine
next spring or before Christmas.
Also a great place for a few last minute photos !

October Run

What a gorgeous day.... 27 covettes of every color and almost every year. We met for lunch in Amherst, where the 7 corvettes from Moncton joined up with the corvettes of Nova Scotia. It was at this point that most dropped their tops. The ride through River Hebert, Apple River, Advocate Harbor and Parrsboro was accelerating to say the least. We were having so much fun on this "mini Cabot trail", twisting and cornering, that the first 6 or 7 vettes forgot about the rest for a while. Thank you Brian for allowing us to release our horses. After a quick stop in Parrsboro to regroup, we then visited the Christmas shop to satisfy the needs of those that wanted to find that little something special; we made the mandatory stop at the Masstown market. Then it was off to Brian & Debbie Palmer's home for a wide variety of food and birthday cake (Roger & Brian are twins). Brian walked the group through the pathway he has (wide enough for a truck - and that's another story) which runs from his home down to a river bank that once was home to some now stolen trout (soon to be replaced). With the leaves falling and the quiet warmth of the day, the walk was almost better than the winding roads of the Glooscap Trail (I said almost). Thank you to a fun bunch of people, who love to get together with their corvettes - you make life happen.

"Putting Her Away Clean"

Bob says Ron would be proud of him, as this year
he's putting his roadster away clean for the winter,
before he heads back down south for warmer times.
The corvette season around here is dwindling down
and it won't be long and we all will be storing our
vettes for a few months. She's looking good Bob and
Ron says to keep the bugs off it next year.

CORVETTES AT CLARK'S

A cool day in October for a car show but it turned
out to be successful and entertaining just the same.
Members of the RiverValley Vettes and a number
of cars from the Moncton club were at Clark's Chevrolet
on Prospect St, Fredericton ,Saturday to show off their
"babies" , probably for the last time this year before
putting them away for the winter.Late arrival Bob Cromwell
was the recipient of the "most inproved corvette" at the show
and he says now he has to resize his trophy room. After
the show we all participated in a softball game at Kimble Drive .
Needless to say there were some laughs to follow for sure.
I'd like to thank Roger Bourgeois and members of the GMCC
for help making a fun day to remember.

Scarecrow Festival in Mahone Bay 2007

Three cars [ "TheThree Muskateers" ] from the
River Valley Vettes made the trip to Nova Scotia
Friday in the pouring rain to participate in the annual
Scarecrow Festivities in Mahone Bay.Kelly Kelly,
Ron and Anne Gould and Tom and Lois Hiltz. We picked
up Bob Cromwell in Salisbury along the way. Couldn't rain
any harder all the way down but managed to stop just
before arriving in Bedford where we stopped for dinner.
Bob took us to meet his daughter in law ,LeAnne and
her 2 lovely sons. They directed us to Peggy's Cove where
we stayed for several hours climbing the rocks and taking
pictures. On the way back to the motel we stopped off at
the memorial of Swissair Flight 111 which crashed just
off the shore killing 229 men ,women and children. We
then headed back to Bridgewater to stay at the Wandlynn
Motel and a well deserved rest but not before celebrating
mine and Kelly's birthdays ! Saturday morning we travelled
to Kentville where we visited my old house and street where
I was born and never to return to in 50 odd years. Now on to
Kingston to meet up with the other vettes and antique cars.
After a short stop and a fast meal we all travelled together
back to Bridgewater and what a sight that was to see.We then
went on to Lunenburg for some sightseeing and shopping. Some
even elected to go on a horse and buggy ride around the town.
Back to Bridgewater where we were entertained that evening
to a Chinese auction and a dance. Sunday morning we all headed
out again and this time to Mahone Bay for a car show and
Scarecrow Festivities. I would like to thank Roger and Angie
Bourgeois from the Moncton Corvette Club for inviting us to
go along with them as well as the organizers of the Scarecrow
Festival. Thanks to everyone involved on behalf of the River
Valley Vettes
Cheers !
